Clean Eating Principles

How many of you are looking for clean eating principles?  This is a simplified way to look at how to eat and how to properly fuel your body with the nutrients it needs.  Following these 13 simple clean eating principles will help you get started on your new healthier lifestyle without confusing you along the way.   For those of you that know me are aware I’ve added Shakeology as a core component of my nutrition to help further the process of eating healthy and clean.  If you need help figuring out the best meal plan for you, feel free to contact me so we can help you get started to a better-feeling you.

1. Eat 5-6 small meals everyday
2. Eat every 2-3 hours
3. Combine lean protein & complex carbs at every meal
4. Drink at least 8 cups of water a day (1/2 your body weight in fluid ounces)
5. Never miss a meal especially breakfast
6. Carry healthy snacks with you on the go
7. Avoid all over-processed foods, refined foods, white flour & sugar
8. Avoid all saturated & trans fats
9. Avoid sugar loaded soda & juices
10. Consume adequate healthy fats each day
11. Avoid alcohol-another form of sugar
12. Depend on fresh fruits & vegetables for fiber, vitamins &enzymes
13. Stick to proper portion size-give up super sizing
